Arco’s Annual Golf Tournament 2015 Reinforced That Teamwork and Camaraderie are as Strong as Steel

Last May, Arco Building Systems hosted its 17th Annual Arco Golf Tournament. This tournament was first played in 1998 and was led by Arco's founder, Tom Freeman. The 2015 tournament was opened by his son, Allen Freeman, who is now owner and president. Said Freeman, "We used to play this tournament in July, but the heat was brutal. Since we started playing the tournament in May, the weather has been perfect for golf and a good time. We sell steel buildings every day, but this is a chance to get outside and enjoy the game as well as each other."

This year's tournament was played at River Pines Golf Course in Johns Creek, Georgia. The format was a scramble as it has been in previous years, with four teams made up of Arconians and vendors competing for gifts and prizes contributed by Arco vendors. The competition is good, but the camaraderie and support for each other is what stands out. When a member of an opposing team hit a good shot, all the players from every team were cheering them on.

After the tournament, winning teams were announced, prizes were given out, and then we all cooled down with a beer and talked about the day's great shots at the 19th hole. Sometimes, these shots become like fish stories, getting better and better with each telling.

At the end of the day, all the Arconians had a great day showing a lot of team work, just like they do every day for Arco Steel Building customers.
