An Update from Arco Building Systems’ Leadership

AN UPDATE FROM ARCO BUILDING SYSTEMS’ LEADERSHIP

CONTINUING THE TRADITION OF QUALITY

The Arco difference has been a standard of ours since the company opened in 1979. We’re focused on providing great products with great service—all delivered with a personal touch. Today is no different. The Arco Building Systems team has some very bittersweet news to share. As shared from our company president of over 40 years, the news is best said by our dear friend Allen Freeman.

A Letter from Allen Freeman

On June 30, 2020, the Assets of Arco building Systems were purchased by Todd and Carolyn Wade, and I retired as president of a company I have had the honor of guiding for over 40 years. This was a very bittersweet occasion as, even though the responsibilities now lie in very capable hands, I will not be seeing the fine people who are Arco on a daily basis.
My Dad, Tom Freeman, founded Arco in 1979 in a storefront on Main Street in Tucker, Georgia. I joined him a couple of months after he started this adventure and Arco was incorporated in the fall of 1979. Dad was not only the best salesman I ever met, but he was also the most honest, loving, and sincere person I ever met. He showed me that you could sell the hell out of a good product, fulfill the needs of your customer, and maintain integrity at the same time. Respect for your customers as well as your employees was the key.

When Arco was born I was only 30 years old, and didn’t know a lot about steel buildings. Dad left me to man the office as he made sales calls with only two rules… Tell the customer the truth, and give the customer more than they expect in the building as well as customer service. Even though Dad passed away nearly 20 years ago, those beliefs and values have never changed and are the foundation of Arco.

It’s impossible to condense 40 years of experiences into a few paragraphs, but suffice it to say that with the help of a lot of good people including vendors and employees, Arco has not only kept the doors open during the bad times, but has thrived over the years.

Fast forward to 2020: I am 70 years old and it’s time for me to enter a new phase of life. Numerous exit strategies were pursued, but only one proved viable especially to the employees.

Carolyn Akers-Wade and I had our first discussion about her purchasing Arco in August, 2019, over beers at the Blue Top Bar and Grill in Chamblee, GA. Carolyn began at Arco Steel Buildings nearly 30 years ago so she was not only influenced by Tom Freeman, but she had also endured most of the trials and tribulations I had experienced as a business owner. It didn’t hurt that Carolyn has been the top producer for Arco and a trusted friend for years.

Arco-Building-Systems_Announcement-225x300
As discussions continued over the next few weeks and months, a plan was taking shape that made a lot of sense. As a potential business owner, Carolyn brought continuity, building knowledge, energy, and love of all things Arco. Carolyn’s husband, Todd, brought the experience of an owner of a previous successful business as well as the personality and attention to detail required in such a position. That combination provided a team whose talents perfectly complement each other.
Arco-Building-Systems_Allen-Announcement-300x225
This was looking like a perfect fit and a plan was finalized with closing to be March 31, 2020. Then the pandemic hit! Closing was delayed 90 days and, in that regard only, the pandemic seemed to have a silver lining. Since I couldn’t wait 90 days to bring in Todd, I made the announcement to the employees that Todd and Carolyn’s new company would be purchasing Arco Building Systems even though we had not closed the sale. The employees were relieved and enthusiastic about the plan. All the employees knew Todd and were pumped about his coming on board as well.
This early announcement allowed Todd to begin his baptism under fire immediately and gave him a chance to see if what we were doing would work before he was locked in. After Todd had gotten six weeks or so under his belt, Todd told me he was more eager than ever to close. He said he was able to see how Arco performed during a tough time like the early pandemic days, and if that was any indication, things were going to be great during good times.
Since we closed the sale on June 30, Todd and Carolyn have hit the ground running, forming their own team, cleaning things up where needed, and moving full steam ahead. Although, technically their company name is Aker’s Building Systems, Inc., legally they will continue to do business as Arco Building Systems and Arco Steel Buildings. The transition has been smooth and any changes made have been for the good of the customers and employees.

Again, it has been an honor to lead Arco for over 40 years. Now I can relax a little knowing that Arco is in good hands and will continue to offer quality buildings with great customer service as well as treat employees and customers with dignity and respect.
Thank you, Allen, for your continued hard work, for your leadership, and for being an extension of what your dad started years ago. The Arco Building Systems staff and our customers appreciate your contributions and setting the standard for “the Arco difference.”

Harvest Time! Why a Steel Building Provides Great Farm Solutions

HARVEST TIME! WHY A STEEL BUILDING PROVIDES GREAT FARM SOLUTIONS

    10000-Sq-Ft-Steel-Building_Municipal-900x444

PERKS OF INVESTING IN A 100 X 300 STEEL BUILDING

The driving force behind any farm is the hard work of skilled hands. Though, just as important, the equipment and tools on a farm do a lot of the heavy lifting. Of course, not to be forgotten are the buildings—they need to be durable and able to withstand the day-to-day of a farm. There’s only one building option tough enough for the job: a steel building. Whether you need a 100 x 300 steel building or another size, this is a great option for the agricultural industry—let’s explore the reasons why.

What Steel Buildings Bring to the Agricultural Industry

    Durability

With a steel building, you can of course expect durability. It’s a building type that is common and practical for many blue collar industries, including agriculture. Steel buildings without a doubt have what it takes to provide a workplace that works just as hard as you do.

    Weather Resistance

Steel buildings are known and proven to be able to withstand inclement weather. From high winds, to extreme temperatures, to snow, steel buildings offer great protection against the elements, making this an ideal structure for storage, livestock, machinery, and many other farm-related operations.

    Long-Lasting

It’s important to check all the boxes when making an investment like this one. One of the many boxes a steel building checks off is longevity. Not only do steel buildings typically have great warranties, but they are not susceptible to rotting, warping, cracking, or other wear-and-tear that are common with other building materials. Also, they are low maintenance, which we’ll get into in our next point.

    Low-Maintenance

You know what is involved in taking care of an old wooden barn. With a steel building, you don’t have to worry about wood rot or other challenges that come with structures made from other materials. This saves money, time, and headaches involved with keeping up with a building.

    Storage Solutions

Steel buildings are versatile structures. Whether for storing equipment, livestock, vehicle, or hay, steel buildings are great storage solutions. With durability in mind, this is a great option for storage and organization, especially considering protection from weather and other elements.

    Quick Assembly

In the agricultural industry, a quick turnaround for long-lasting solutions is invaluable, and that’s what you can expect with a steel building of any size, even 100 x 300. Steel building kits can be quickly assembled, costing you less during the construction phase, and ultimately making your new workspace available sooner rather than later.

The Best Investment for Your Agricultural Business Is a 100×300 Steel Building

THE BEST INVESTMENT FOR YOUR AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS IS A 100×300 STEEL BUILDING

      100x300-Steel-Building-Barn-900x444

A 100X300 STEEL BUILDING: THE SOLUTION FOR YOUR AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS

The everyday people in society might not have your business in mind throughout their daily lives, but the agricultural industry has a tremendous impact on everyone’s lives. Agricultural businesses are essential to how we function as a country. Take your agricultural business to the next level with a 100×300 steel building. The durable quality of steel buildings makes them a popular choice for many in the agricultural business, which is why a metal building is the best investment for your company.

A 100x300 Steel Building Will Help Grow Your Agricultural Business

Whether your farm has a specialty or harvests a widespread of goods, a 100×300 steel building will benefit your business in ways that alternative materials cannot. Investing in a steel building is valuable to many aspects of your farm from caring for your equipment to protecting your livestock.

Using a 100x300 Steel Building for Equipment

Efficient farming wouldn’t be possible without the help of farming tools. From machinery to a maintenance area for that equipment, a 100×300 steel building is ideal for anyone in the agricultural industry. The necessary gear used to harvest crops requires regular maintenance, and having a proper on-site location for equipment upkeep will keep down costs going forward in addition to saving time.
      100x300-Steel-Building-Farm-Equipment-300x200
While adding a great spot for equipment maintenance, a steel building is the ideal solution for your machinery storage needs. The durable construct of metal buildings will keep your equipment safe from the elements. Steel buildings are weather-resistant, which means they are the safest option to protect your assets.

Why a 100x300 Steel Building is Perfect for Livestock

Animals are the most valuable assets on any farm, which is why many in the industry choose steel buildings for their barn needs. Because of their vulnerability to cold and other elements, livestock need an indoor housing option. By being low-maintenance, steel buildings offer a secure place for your animals to live and produce. A 100×300 steel building is an economical option because it offers longevity and flexibility, making it a popular choice for many barns.
      100x300-Steel-Building-Cow-Barn-300x200
Alternatively, wooden barns are suspect to weather and pest damage. Wood requires a lot of upkeep such as sealing it regularly so that moisture does not enter. Considering other factors such as warping, wood is not a suitable alternative to steel. The best long-term option for a barn’s building material is steel.

A 40×100 Steel Building Makes Owning Your Own Small Business Possible

A 40×100 STEEL BUILDING MAKES OWNING YOUR OWN SMALL BUSINESS POSSIBLE

        shutterstock_611243435
Starting a small business is tougher than ever these days. It’s not like all you need is an idea and a dream anymore; these days, you need the best idea, and plenty of capital to get things moving. Shows like Shark Tank are popular for a reason; with some serious cash, starting a small business in nigh impossible in our economic climate. It’s sad but true. But let’s say you’ve got the idea of the century and enough money to get things going. A 40×100 steel building from Arco Steel could be one of the keys to unlocking the dream of small business ownership.

DREAMS COME TRUE WITH A 40X100 STEEL BUILDING

        shutterstock_530145274-300x200
Why choose a 40×100 steel building for your small business or startup? There are more reasons than you can probably think of, but first and foremost is cost. A 40×100 steel 40×100 steel buildingbuilding is going to be dramatically cheaper to purchase and get going. If you already have the land to place it on, a 40×100 steel building is going to be a snap. Simply place the order with Arco Steel, wait for it to arrive and either hire someone to assemble it or do it yourself over a weekend or two. Compared with construction and material costs that come with a traditional brick-and-mortar building, a 40×100 steel building is a low-cost alternative that can get your business going much more quickly than the alternative.
We hit on it a minute ago, but another advantage of a 40×100 steel building is time. These buildings go up at ten times light speed when compared to traditional buildings, so if you understand that a key to small business success is speed, a 40×100 steel building seems 40×100 steel buildinglike an easy choice.

Finally, the last advantage of a 40×100 steel building is versatility. Need a storefront to sell a product? A warehouse to store something you are shipping? Or an office to hold your employees? A 40×100 steel building can do any of these and much, much more. If you need your cash flow to go as far as it can, why lock yourself into an unwieldy brick-and-mortar building that can only be what it was designed to be? A more versatile 40×100 steel building from Arco Steel is clearly the better choice for small businesses and startups.

A Metal Building Can Keep Your Plumbing Business Flowing

A METAL BUILDING CAN KEEP YOUR PLUMBING BUSINESS FLOWING

          shutterstock_524812231
Absolutely no one would argue the point that the plumbing business is a tough one. Finding the right, trained and accredited employees, answering calls at all hours of the night and dealing with some of the nastiest substances known to man can make working with or owning a plumbing business a challenging, yet ultimately rewarding, ordeal. And with the popularity of the plumbing business, with dozens of companies all jockeying for the same piece of the pie, especially in a huge area like the Atlanta suburbs, you’ll need to set yourself apart from the rest. You could offer profit-shaving promos and coupons, spend tons on advertising in markets that probably aren’t even thinking about plumbing until the toilet is overflowing or you can pick a better, cost-efficient and unique plan of attack: a steel building from Arco Steel.

WHY DOES MY PLUMBING BUSINESS NEED A STEEL BUILDING?

That’s a good question, considering most average folks think plumbers only need tools, plumbing businesstrucks and know-how. Most folks don’t realize there is far more to it than that. You need a place for your plumbing business to park and store those trucks and tools.
          shutterstock_636097889-300x213
You need a place to house your personnel; everyone from actual plumbers waiting for customer calls to back office staff, management and HR. And if you are really serious about setting yourself apart, a good physical storefront almost screams, “This is a plumbing business I can trust.” Handling these challenges can not only exponentially boost your company’s profits and profile, they can be handled for probably far, far less of an investment than you might thing. A steel building for your plumbing business costs only a fraction of what it would take for a standard brick and mortal building, and only takes a little time and elbow grease to get it up and running. If your plumbing company needs that extra bit of “oomph”, you need to expand your operations to meet your needs or you simply want to get on a more solid footing in the competition against the biggest plumbing companies, a radio or TV ad with a catchy song, a ridiculous gimmick or bait-and-switch pricing, a metal building from Arco Steel is a no-brainer.

          UNCLOGGING YOUR BUSINESS’ FUTURE

          shutterstock_558607561-300x203
If there was no real word limit to our blogs, we could go on and on from pages about the advantages of a steel building for your plumbing company. As attractive as everything listed may sound, there are tons more great reasons and example as to why you and your plumbing business need a steel building from industry-leaders Arco Steel. Contact Arco Steel at 1-800-241-8339 or click the banner below to unclog your stagnant business growth and you know you won’t be flushing your hard-earned cash down the toilet. Make the right call first and Arco Steel will be there every step of the way.
