Paula Martinez Joins The Arco Steel Building Systems' Team

Happy New Year! We at Arco Building Systems (also known to many as Arco Steel) are thrilled to embrace 2024 with eager anticipation. We left off in December, sharing our appreciation for our customers and thoughts on what had taken place in 2023. On a sad note, we said goodbye and wished well in retirement to our former building consultant, Perry Godley; we knew the new year held great, unique gifts ahead. The first of these is bringing on a fantastic new team member. Please help us welcome Paula Martinez to the Arco Family.

INTRODUCING PAULA MARTINEZ

Paula Martinez was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. After a recent move to the United States, she took on a temporary position with another company while adjusting to Georgia’s challenging traffic and weather, where she met by chance, Carolyn Wade.

“I was ready to move to a bigger job, and that’s when I met Carolyn. She told me about what they do at Arco, and I said to myself: I would love to work there. So here I am,” shares Paula.

As the daughter of an architect, Paula is a natural when it comes to knowing construction and steel buildings. She grew up actively hearing all about buildings and the complex details of their structure. By age ten, Paula was visiting job sites with her father, helping to take measurements, and learning the basics of blueprints.

Paula-Headshot
“My father would teach me all kinds of stuff,” Paula says. “I also went to school for Industrial design, so I always loved learning about construction materials, their uses, and variations.”
While Paula’s years of construction knowledge and industrial design training are some of her best assets to Arco’s customers, she brings an exciting new ability to the Arco team: she is bilingual.
“I was born and raised in Colombia, so Spanish is actually my first language,” Paula says. “I’ve been learning English for 20 years, so I can confidently say I’m bilingual, which has opened so many doors for me.”
For the Arco team, this is an exciting opportunity. Paula truly enjoys talking to customers and cares significantly about their needs.
“Having a bilingual team member allows us to communicate with even greater customer service to all our customers, especially those in the Hispanic community. Paula is knowledgeable and brings new energy to helping our customers find that perfect steel building to meet their needs.”

Carolyn Wade

But Paula’s exuberance for helping customers goes well beyond being bilingual. Her dedication to walking customers through the steel building process from call to delivery allows her to fit right in with the Arco Building Systems team.

So, What's Next For Arco Steels' Newest Team Member?

Paula adamantly has the answer.

“When a customer is telling me what they’re using their metal building for and how they imagine their shop, for example, I’m picturing it all in my head at the same time they are because I’m just as excited to see it finished. So, I’ll do my best and help as much as I can to see those dreams come true.”

6 Tips For Storing Your RV Properly For Winter

6 TIPS FOR STORING YOUR RV PROPERLY FOR WINTER

Arco Steel Offers The RV Storage Building To Keep Your Investment Secure For Winter

As fall rolls in, RV owners are considering their winter recreational vehicle storage plans. Whether you are a full-time RVer or only use your recreational vehicle for vacations, it is essential to properly store your RV during the winter months to ensure it is ready to go when spring arrives. Arco Steel, the trusted RV storage building provider, offers tips for storing a recreational vehicle properly for winter and the benefits of a secure steel building.

Why is Proper RV Storage Important?

If you plan to store your recreational vehicle during the winter, you need to take precautions to protect it from the elements. Winter weather can be harsh, and without proper protection, your RV can be damaged. For example, moisture can seep into the interior of your RV, causing mold and mildew growth. Exposure to sunlight can damage your RV’s exterior and cause fading of the paint and decals. Freezing temperatures can cause water to freeze, leading to cracked pipes and other issues.

Six Tips for Storing Your RV Properly for Winter

1.Clean Your RV Thoroughly: Before you store your RV, clean it thoroughly inside and out. This includes washing the exterior, shining the tires, and emptying the holding tanks.

2.Protect the Tires: Place your RV on blocks or jacks to take the weight off the tires, which can develop flat spots from sitting in one area for an extended period. If storing outside (which is not recommended), cover your tires to protect them from sunlight, which can cause cracking.

3.Drain Your RV’s Systems: Make sure to drain your RV’s water system, including the freshwater and wastewater tanks, as well as all the pipes and faucets. This will prevent freezing water from damaging your RV’s plumbing.

4.Add A Fuel Stabilizer: Gas that sits can go bad and develop gummy deposits that damage an engine. Adding a fuel stabilizer while in storage can help prevent these deposits from forming.

5.Disconnect Your Batteries: RV batteries should be disconnected and stored in a cool (not cold)-dry place. Check your batteries with a voltmeter and charge when necessary to keep them fully charged. Remember, freezing temps can damage batteries.

6.Store Your RV in a Secure Location: Choose a secure location to store your RV. Ideally, you want to keep it in a dry, covered area. A steel building is an excellent option for RV storage because it provides essential protection from the elements. They are also durable, long-lasting, and low maintenance.

A Steel Building For RV Storage

Proper recreational vehicle storage is not just about protecting your RV from the elements. It is also about protecting your investment. Your RV represents a significant financial investment, and you want to do everything you can to ensure it lasts for years to come.
One of the best ways to protect your RV investment is by storing it in a steel building. The benefits of housing your RV in a secure steel storage building for the winter season are numerous.
Protection from Harsh Weather: A steel building provides great protection from the elements. Your RV will be shielded from rain, snow, and hail, as well as wind and extreme temperatures.

Security: A steel building is also a secure option for RV storage. You can add extra security features like alarms and cameras to ensure your RV is protected from theft and vandalism.

Long-Lasting and Low Maintenance: Steel buildings are durable and long-lasting, requiring little maintenance. They are also fire-resistant.

What Size Steel Building is Optimal for RV Storage?

The answer depends on the size of your RV. It would be best to have a structure that is longer, wider, and higher than your RV to ensure comfortable storage. Arco Steel buildings can meet a range of widths, lengths, and heights to accommodate your RV storage needs. Here is a small list of common sizes for RV storage:
      • 30ft x 50ft x 14ft – ideal for storing a large RV with additional storage space
      • 40ft x 60ft x 16ft – suitable for storing two medium-sized RVs with additional storage space
      • 50ft x 100ft x 18ft – ideal for storing multiple RVs with additional storage and workspace
      • 60ft x 120ft x 20ft – suitable for storing a fleet of RVs with extra workspace and storage

This means that your motorcycles will be protected from the damaging effects of the factors, helping to prolong their lifespan and ensure they remain in top condition.
Pre engineered steel buildings also offer motorcycle shop business owners, collectors, and owners many other benefits. These include:
        • Cost-effectiveness: pre engineered steel buildings are a cost-effective solution compared to traditional buildings, as they require less labor and materials to construct.
        • Easy to maintain: steel buildings are easy to maintain and require little upkeep, making them a low-maintenance option for motorcycle owners.

Arco Celebrates 3-Year Anniversary of New Owners!

ARCO CELEBRATES 3-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF NEW OWNERS!

New Owners Help Arco Keep Up with Pre Engineered Building Industry While Keeping the Arco Difference

July 1st marks 3 years since Carolyn and Todd Wade took over Arco after the previous owner, Allen Freeman, retired. A loyal Arco employee since 1991, Carolyn became the company’s new president in 2020. At that time, her husband Todd joined as the vice president. They have made many changes to Arco over the past couple of years while keeping the Arco difference at the heart of what they do. Carolyn and Todd share their memories of working at Arco and some words of wisdom about working in the pre engineered building industry.

Carolyn Wade: “Arco Was the Best Surprise That Ever Happened to Me.”

Carolyn got off to an unexpected start at Arco. “I was a headhunter at the time and was trying to fill a role here at Arco. Ultimately, they hired me instead.” Little did she know that one day, she would run the company!
Carolyn has served a wide customer base, saying, “I have seen everything under the sun because everyone’s needs are different.” The most unusual building she remembers selling was 78’ tall. You certainly don’t see that every day!

Technology has completely changed how Arco does business. “Back when I first started, we used to hand write everything, had one computer to share between all the salespeople, and faxed out every document we sent to a customer,” Carolyn remembers.
Carolyn and Allen hug at Allen's retirement party
Carolyn and Allen hug at Allen's retirement party (2020)
Arco has had to adapt to changes in the pre engineered building industry. The COVID-19 pandemic, weather, and other catastrophes have all caused steel price fluctuations, which Carolyn says is a “challenge that we have to grind through.”
When asked what she has accomplished since taking over, Carolyn responds, “Overall, my team is my best asset.”
The accomplishment she is most proud of? “Every obstacle we have faced, we have overcome. I am lucky to work with my husband and both my daughters; it has been an absolute pleasure to watch them grow into their roles. The rest of my team has stuck together through the highs and lows, and at the end of the day, we all have each other’s backs.”

Todd Wade: "Patience to Achieve Your Goals"

Todd Wade joined Arco in 2020 when Allen retired and Carolyn took over. Todd closed his car dealership the year before and was looking for a new career.
Todd lists the changes he made to help the company run more efficiently: “New computer and phone equipment. New OMS/ERP software. New cloud-based data storage. New employees. New management. New legal counsel. New office furniture.”

He notices the positive effect of these changes: “The air conditioning is not going out every week. The internet is not going out every week. The phones and computers are not going out every week. The employees are making more money and seem to be happier with all the upgrades.”
Carolyn and Allen hug at Allen's retirement party
Todd and Carolyn at Arco's Christmas party (2002)
Todd looks back on his three years at Arco and shares some memories. The most unusual building he remembers selling was an alligator sanctuary. He names COVID supply chain interruptions and new tax laws as Arco’s biggest external challenges. He also addresses Arco’s internal challenges:
“Trying to make sure you are being treated fairly by all the different vendors. Making sure Arco is treating all of the employees fairly with just compensation and time off.”
Todd shares how experience that he gained from his previous businesses helps him run Arco:
“They helped me realize how important it is to keep the books straight. They helped me understand how technology is very important for the overall success of a business. They helped me to understand how to deal with employees, customers, and vendors. They helped me to understand that you must have patience to achieve your goals.”
Carolyn and Todd at Arco's Christmas Party (2003)

          The Future of Arco

Carolyn and Todd share their goals and visions for Arco’s future. “It sounds cliché, but it has always been my goal to treat my employees and my customers like family. I want to maintain our reputation as a customer- first company, with customer needs always first,” Carolyn explains.
Todd shares his main goal. “I want Arco to be known as a fair and honest company that everyone can trust to do business with. I see Arco as leading in the use of technology to assist in quoting, delivering, and accounting of metal building materials across the country.”

Feel the Arco Difference When You Choose Us For Your Pre Engineered Building Needs!

Carolyn and Todd are proud to continue the Arco Difference that the Freeman family started in 1979.              Arco Welcomes New Employee, Highlights Employee of the Year

ARCO WELCOMES NEW EMPLOYEE, HIGHLIGHTS EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Our customers wouldn’t feel the Arco Difference without our amazing employees. The Arco difference extends to our employees who work with a dedicated, family-like team. This creates the difference that make us the preferred choice for your metal building. This month, we would like to introduce you to Mike Graves, our newest employee, as well as spotlight our employee of the year, Perry Godley.

            Meet Mike Graves

Building Consultant Mike’s journey to Arco shows how the Arco difference extends to employees as well as customers. He shares why he was drawn to apply for a job at Arco:

“One of my best friends worked at Arco when he was fresh out of college. I was looking for a new opportunity and he thought Arco would be a great fit for me. He told me how much he admired Carolyn and Todd Wade and that he continues to do business with them today. My friend reached out to Carolyn and Todd to see if they were hiring, and fortunately they were. Needless to say, I got the job and I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to prove myself here.”

Mike is new to the steel building industry, but he brings with him years of experience with metal products and building maintenance. In the past, he worked for a heating equipment manufacturer, a battery manufacturer, and flexible metal hose and expansion joint manufacturers. He also has several years of experience with exterior building maintenance and residential roofing.

From left to right: Carolyn, Mike, and Todd at Arco's annual golf tournament (May 2023)

We asked him what skills he brings to the Arco team:

“Early in my professional career, I helped lead a company to ISO 9001 certification as a quality assurance specialist. In that role, I learned the fundamentals of how a company should operate. Since then, I have been an operations manager, a small business owner, and an inside sales/account manager. Having a non-linear career path has allowed me to develop a varied skill set. However, in nearly all these positions, I worked directly with customers. I have been in sales in some form or fashion for most of my life.”
Arco’s work environment stands out to Mike, and he shares his expectations and goals for his new role:
“Everyone seems to be genuinely happy here. Arco is a team of friendly, experienced, knowledgeable people and I’m excited to be the newest member of that team. I’m also looking forward to helping customers with their metal building needs. Purchasing a metal building is a major expenditure for most people. Helping customers get exactly what they need, at an affordable price, within the time frame they need it will undoubtedly be a rewarding experience.
I want to exceed the expectations of a new hire. I have a lot to learn, but I hope to gain the knowledge and confidence of a seasoned professional as soon as I possibly can.”

When asked what the Arco difference means to him, Mike says:

“Arco Building Systems is in a very competitive market and year after year Arco is one of the largest suppliers of steel buildings in the United States. Why? Exceptional customer service. The sales representatives are not just order takers. They are knowledgeable building consultants who understand that every customer is unique. They listen to the customer’s needs, advise them of their options, and treat them as they would a good friend or neighbor.”

            Perry Godley Spotlight

Our building consultant Perry Godley is honored to be Arco’s 2022 employee of the year. Perry joined the Arco family in October 2009 after seeing an internet ad for an open role. He brought his previous experience in construction and has combined it with exceptional customer service to create the Arco difference our customers love. He is the perfect representative of what the Arco difference means to our employees and customers. Perry prides himself on the wide range of customers he has served. In several states all over the U.S., stretching from South Florida to Vermont, you can find a metal building that he helped sell.
            Perry's 10-year Arco Anniversary (2019)
Perry looks back on his experience at Arco and reflects on his favorite moments.

When asked about his favorite memory at Arco, he replies:

“The 1st time I had the most building orders in one month (11).”
Perry has shown us how he values all our customers equally. When asked if he has a favorite building he sold, he says:
“The last order in. Each and every time.”
When reflecting on Arco’s growth over the past decade, Perry says
“Our software has improved with the ability to price more options for our customers.”
Perry embodies the Arco difference. He says that his work ethic and answering the phone with a smile contributes to his success.

When asked what the Arco difference means to him, his answer is simple.

            “Integrity.”
We asked Perry about his favorite part of working in the steel industry. He tells us,
“We are not just selling a product. We get to work with the customers to create a building that meets their needs. It is also rewarding to have customers with whom you work with on multiple projects and who send you referrals.”

If you are planning on opening a new campus or adding onto an existing building, consider a pre-engineered steel building. Steel is one of the most sustainable building materials available, and here at Arco, we make a wide range of steel buildings that fit your business’s needs and industry. Shop Arco for a sustainable 100×100 steel building and make your business greener today!

              Sustainability During Construction

Simply choosing steel as your building material is already a huge step towards sustainability. Steel offers many advantages over other types of materials like wood. Steel can be recycled without degrading the quality, which means that any steel building is at least partially recycled!
The pre-engineered building industry is growing rapidly and for a good reason. Choosing a pre-engineered steel building saves your business even more time and money during construction. Since putting up a steel building saves time, it also lessens the carbon footprint that would be used during construction from equipment such as bulldozers. You will also produce less waste during the construction process compared to materials that must be cut on-site.
Here at Arco, our buildings are manufactured at plants all over the US. This gives us freight advantages, and you don’t have to worry about the environmental impact made by importing materials from overseas.

              Durability that Lasts

Arco steel buildings use only the highest quality materials, keeping your business sustainable long after the construction process ends. Steel is durable and withstands extreme weather conditions. Whether your area is prone to snow, tornados, floods, or any other type of extreme conditions, we’ve got you covered. While your competitors have to spend time and resources repairing wooden buildings after a storm, you can focus more on the business that happens inside your building. And you don’t have to feel guilty about throwing out materials that got destroyed.
Another advantage of a steel building is the roof. A steel roof keeps your building cooler than a typical shingle roof does. This saves money and energy used to cool the building during the summer.

              Custom Features

Here at Arco, we offer many ways to customize your own features to help your building save energy. These include skylights to let the light in and save on electricity or gravity ventilation to improve natural airflow. Windows are notorious for letting in heat or cold, driving up energy bills, but our insulated windows prevent this problem.
I want to exceed the expectations of a new hire. I have a lot to learn, but I hope to gain the knowledge and confidence of a seasoned professional as soon as I possibly can.”

When asked what the Arco difference means to him, Mike says:

The specific features that will work best for your building depend on location and industry. Our steel buildings include:
              • Aircraft hangars
              • Commercial buildings
              • Agricultural buildings
              • auto shops
              • Storage buildings
              • And many more!
Some people may worry that a pre-engineered building looks cheap or ugly. However, Arco buildings hardly look pre-engineered. When you work with us, you can enjoy the price and durability of a pre-engineered steel building combined with the aesthetic of a conventional building. Just take a look through our gallery to see what we mean.
Whether you know exactly what you want or you just have an idea and need more guidance, we will help you throughout the entire process. After all, we are the experts! Our excellent customer service makes us easy to work with, and we will never mislead you on a quote. Many of our customers choose to put up their building themselves, but we can also refer you to a qualified independent crew if you wish.

What is the cheapest way to store a boat?

WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST WAY TO STORE A BOAT?

Everyone loves a good time out on the water, but what do you do with your boat at the end of the day? Several boat storage solutions exist, but they not all are equal in terms of convenience and safety. Nothing beats a steel storage building where you can keep your boat on your own property. With an Arco 100×100 metal building, you can have full control of your boat year-round and keep it in top condition during the off season.

                Problems with Traditional Boat Storage

There are many ways to store your boat during the off season, but some methods are less effective than others. You can store your boat on the water, but that may cause damage more quickly. If you live in an area with cold winters, ice may damage your boat.
Not all dry storage solutions are very effective either. Public boat storage is often costly, requiring you to pay a fee every month. If security is poor, someone could break in and vandalize your boat. The nearest storage facility may be a long way away from your home. A boat is a big investment to keep at a distance. Additionally, public boat storage can be scarce, even in areas right near the water. If you store your boat at home, it may not fit in your garage, and a boat in your driveway may violate HOA rules.

The Best Solution: Your Own Steel Building

With on-the-water storage risking damage and public storage inviting vandalism, the best way to store your boat is indoors, on your own property. A 100×100 metal building is easier to maintain than a wood or brick building, giving you more time to work on your boat. We offer ventilation options for your steel building, which will help keep your boat from experiencing wear and tear during the off season. And you won’t have any monthly fees. You can also save on the cost of the steel building if you choose to put it up yourself.

What Do I Need to Consider When I Use a Steel Building?

Though a steel building provides your boat with a lot of protection, there are still some precautions you must take. Since cold weather can still infiltrate your building, you need to winterize your boat before the winter months arrive. Water expands when it freezes, which means ice can crack and damage your boat. Simply put, winterizing your boat means draining the water aboard and replacing it with antifreeze to protect against low temperatures, as well as doing some other maintenance to prevent damage in the off-season. To winterize your boat, you need to take these steps:
                • Treat the boat’s fuel with a stabilizer: This prevents the carburetors and fuel injectors from getting clogged with varnish deposits.
                • Fog the engine cylinders: This protects the engine from corrosion.
                • Drain the engine: If you don’t drain the engine, the water in the cooling chambers will freeze.
                • Change the oil: This will eliminate moisture and prevent corrosion.
                • Drain the gear-case lubricant: If the lubricant is clear and amber colored, it means your gear-case seals are in good shape. If it is milky or lumpy, it means the seals need to be replaced.
Winterizing your boat, along with storing it in a steel building, will guarantee that your boat will be ready to go when spring arrives. This will make things easier for both you and your boat insurance company!

A Steel Building May Be Your RV Storage Solution

A STEEL BUILDING MAY BE YOUR RV STORAGE SOLUTION

You recently got an RV, and you’re exited to go on new adventures. Unfortunately, one day you get a notice from your local Homeowner’s Association that your RV must be parked out of sight. This puts a damper on your spirit since there’s no way to fit an RV inside a standard-size garage. Luckily, a solution exists that will make both you and your HOA happy. An RV storage building from Arco Steel will keep your RV out of sight from the HOA and will protect it from the weather and elements as well.

Why Can’t I Park in the Driveway?

You may be wondering if it’s even legal for your HOA to tell you where to park, and you might be disappointed to learn that yes, it is. As long as the street is privately owned by the community, the HOA can restrict what vehicles are visibly parked. Though you may not like being told where to park, the HOA is not doing this just to be mean. They may restrict parking for a variety of reasons, including for resident safety and to improve the curb appeal, and therefore maintain the property values.

Where can I store my RV Instead?

Since you can’t park your RV on the street, and its likely too big to fit in your house’s garage, you need another solution. You could park your RV in a public RV storage space. However, this is not an ideal solution for many reasons. Moving your RV to another location is a hassle. Not to mention all the fees these businesses charge! Even worse, your RV might be subject to vandalism or break-ins at the public storage location.
Luckily, a better solution exists. A steel building can keep your RV out of sight in your very own backyard, still easily accessible to you. Steel buildings are easy to maintain and are not susceptible to the wear and tear that wood buildings always seem to have. Steel buildings are cost effective, fire resistant, weather resistant, environmentally friendly, and offer a wide range of construction options.

What Other Benefits Does a Steel RV Storage Building Bring?

A steel building provides many more buildings than just satisfying HOA requirements. Having a garage on your property could raise your home’s value by 2% up to 20%, depending on the area. Additionally, it will prolong the life of your RV by protecting it from the elements when not in use.
Even better, an Arco steel building provides more benefits than a standard garage. When provided with proper ventilation, the building can prevent the buildup of mold and mildew. A steel building provides a place to store all your tools and equipment, so everything is right there when you need to perform maintenance on your vehicle.

What Kind of Steel Building Do I Need?

When choosing your steel building, you need to make sure it has enough room to hold your RV and any other equipment you plan to store. Here at Arco, we offer many different customization options. You choose your width, length, and eave height. Our options for frame systems include:
                  • Gabled (clear span)
                  • Gabled (with interior columns)
                  • Single slope
                  • Lean-to
Our roof panel options include our standard PBR or specialty panels available upon request. You can also customize the color (sticking with HOA requirements of course) and add a wide range of building accessories such as skylights and canopies. You can choose to put up your steel building yourself, or we can arrange for an independent crew to put up the building.

Choose Arco for Your RV Storage Building Needs and Get the HOA off Your Back!

Arco Welcomes Our Newest Member, Alexandra Wade, to the Team!

ARCO WELCOMES OUR NEWEST MEMBER, ALEXANDRA WADE, TO THE TEAM!

Arco Steel Building Systems, The Premiere Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings Supplier Asks, "Why Work For Arco?"

                    Meet Alexandra Wade!

Arco Steel Building Systems has a long history as a family business. Starting in 1979, after many years working under the previous owners, the Wade family purchased Arco to assure its mission of providing the highest quality pre-engineered steel buildings along with superior customer service stayed true. This family environment is what still sets us apart from our competitors as we genuinely care about our customers and employees. We pride ourselves on being more than just a business, to us our customers are family. With that, we are excited to welcome Alexandra Wade to the Arco family as our new project coordinator!
Although new to this position, Alexandra knows Arco very well as she spent much of her childhood helping out with the family business. She began by helping her mom make brochures on the weekends when she was eight. When the pandemic sent her home from college, she worked as Arco’s receptionist. She continued to answer Arco’s phones throughout her holiday breaks from school. Since receiving her Communication Degree from the prestigious University of Georgia, Alexandra plans to bring her new skills to her new full-time position as a project coordinator.

Alexandra’s memories of Arco date back to her early childhood.

“When I was eight years old, my sister and I would help my mom make her brochures on the weekend,” shares Alexandra. “I love working with my coworkers, and I have developed great relationships. They have created a positive work environment and have been great at guiding me through this transition into joining Arco full-time.”

Alexandra describes how the skills she learned at UGA will help her in this new position. Wanting more business knowledge, she took classes in accounting, business statistics, personal finance, microeconomics, and macroeconomics. She then chose a major in communication studies with a minor in fashion merchandising. About her degree, she says,

“My communication studies degree has prepared me to speak with any customer confidently and efficiently. My major has also helped me develop my oral, interpersonal, and written skills. My fashion merchandising degree has helped me be the best dressed in the office!”
Alexandra "working" at Carolyn's desk at Arco when she was 11 years old. (2012)

What is the best part about working in a family business? For the Arco team, Arco represents more than just a workplace. It means family.

Carolyn Akers Wade, the president of Arco, explains how Arco started as a family business.
“Tom Freeman started Arco in 1979, and his son Allen took over in 1994. I started Arco in 1991 and have been very close to the Freeman family since day one. Arco has always been a family business, so when Allen was ready to retire, it only made sense to keep the legacy going. Growing up, I worked for my father, and he instilled principles such as honesty and a strong work ethic.”
“Operating and owning a family business entails teamwork, honesty, and trust, which is why we chose to incorporate under the name Akers to honor my father.”

WORKING FOR A FAMILY BUSINESS BENEFITS ALL THE EMPLOYEES BESIDES JUST THE MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY, CAROLYN EXPLAINS.
“Arco is not just my husband and two daughters but the entire team. Our family includes our general manager, as well as the customer service and sales teams. When we do well and succeed, we ALL do well and succeed. We are a team! We believe in open communication, honesty, and integrity.”

When asked about working for a family business, Alexandra says

“Being a part of the family business has inspired me to work hard. Each day I see how hard my mother, father, and sister work for their success, encouraging me to push myself.”

When asked how the family benefits Arco, Vice President Todd Wade says,

“When a company is family owned and run, the company and its customers benefit because the family’s name and reputation are on the line. Things get done the right way with the thought of the future always in mind. Arco means everything to the Wade family. With the entire nuclear family employed at Arco, there is no option but to succeed. The future of Arco is also the future of the Wade family.”

Heather Wills, Arco’s sales manager, describes the benefits of working for a family-owned company.

“You are more than just a number, and your worth is appreciated and recognized. When you are working with a family-owned company, you also become part of that family. To me, that is the most rewarding part. Each individual customer is important to Arco and making sure that they receive the best service and product out there.”
